Cheeseburger Flatbread Melts

I'm always looking for easy weeknights meals, and this is one of my new favorites. The homemade flatbread is amazing, and so versatile. We've also had it topped with chicken and lettuce, which was just as delicious. These are much easier to make than typical cheeseburgers, and they are also a lot more fun!

Adapted from this recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 pkg dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 can (11 oz) pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce, to taste
Instructions:
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef until brown, and drain.
  • Add water, onion soup mix, ketchup, mustard and garlic to the meat.
  • Stir to combine and simmer over low heat.
  • In another large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Using a pizza cutter, divide the pizza dough into eight equal portions and roll each one into a round, tortilla-like shape.
  • Fry the dough for one minute on each side or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Remove to a paper towel to drain.
  • Top with beef mixture, shredded cheese and lettuce.
